The Flora Maverick Jurassic Coast Hike 2026
Sunday 18 October 2026 | Corfe Castle
Set in the heart of Dorset, we are excited to introduce the Maverick Jurassic Coast Hike. This is a charity-entry-only walking event designed for those who want to swap the running shoes for hiking boots. Offering two spectacular trail distances—a Half Marathon and a Full Marathon—this is an unforgettable journey along the 95-mile stretch of the world-famous Jurassic Coast.
A Great Day Out for Friends, Families, and Groups
This event is built on exploration, camaraderie, and challenge at your own pace. Whether you are an experienced long-distance trekker or a family looking for a meaningful group challenge, these routes offer the perfect "un-race" atmosphere. It’s a chance to slow the pace, immerse yourself in the landscape, and share a rewarding adventure with friends—and yes, it’s a dog-friendly charity walk, so your four-legged companions can join the team!
Both routes start near the picturesque village of Corfe Castle, heading across open heathland toward the dramatic coastline:
The Half Marathon (22km): Guides you along sweeping coastal ridge-lines via the Purbeck Way, passing the iconic Old Harry Rocks.
The Full Marathon (43km): An endurance hike taking you deeper into the peninsula, through Durlston Country Park, Winspit Quarry, and the dramatic steps of St Aldhelm's Head, returning via the Hardy Way.
Hiking for a Good Cause
As a charity-entry event, every step you take helps raise vital funds. Join a community of walkers all dedicated to making a difference. We are proud to partner with five incredible charities:
• Alzheimer’s Research UK: Walking for a world free from dementia.
• Asthma + Lung UK: Supporting the fight for everyone’s right to breathe.
• Make-A-Wish UK: Granting life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
• Marie Curie: Providing care and support through terminal illness.
• Samaritans: Ensuring no one has to face their darkest hours alone.
Join us this October for a day of fresh air, big landscapes, and shared purpose. Why not make a weekend of it? Camp at Burnbake Forest Lodges and turn your charity walk into a full Purbeck escape.
